Students of Design Institute of San Diego win second place in AIA contest

Two interior design students at the Design Institute of San Diego recently won second place at the 2011 American Institute of Architects competition for designing a train car.

The contest asked interior design students across California to design the interior of a train car that would be comfortable and appeal to the leisure market. The students had six hours to develop and create their design. The students then had to present their designs, using visual aids, to the judges. Over $1,000 of prize money was given out to the winners of the competition.

The Design Institute of San Diego is a private four year college that features majors in the arts, technology, and business.
