Judge allows La Jolla to have fireworks for Fourth of July celebration

After ruling that the fireworks celebration that La Jolla hosts every year on Fourth of July would be suspended due to environmental concerns, the judge in the case issued a reprieve of the ruling and will be allowing La Jolla to have fireworks.

The commotion over the celebration began when the Coastal Environmental Rights Foundation filed a lawsuit against the La Jolla Community Fireworks Foundation for polluting the air with their annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration. Initially, the judge sided with the environmental group, suspending the celebration until the fireworks could be reviewed by environmental officials. However, the judge recently had a change of heart and recended her previous ruling.

The judge did not issue a reason as to why she changed her mind, but residents of San Diego and visitors to the area are excited to have a beautiful fireworks celebration on July 4.

The Fourth of July is a little less than a month away, but it’s never too late to start planning your trip to see the fireworks celebration in San Diego. To book your condo, please contact the San Diego condo rental agents of South Mission Beach at 858-449-7552.
