Comic-Con in review

The 42 annual San Diego Comic-Con ended last Sunday, but people are still reeling with the excitement and fanfare of the event that over 120,000 attended.

Comic-Con is less about comics and more about movies nowadays. The likes of Peter Jackson, Steven Spielberg, along with the casts of Twilight, True Blood, Game of Thrones, The Amazing Spiderman, and Cowboys & Aliens (and dozens more) came to promote their films and speak at panels.

The 4 day extravaganza also featured sneak peaks of Captain America as well as Breaking Dawn.  The audience was the first to hear about announcements of new movies like Jurassic Park 4. The San Diego Convention Center was filled with fans and celebrities, both who wore costumes ranging from Storm Troopers to Marvel super heroes to Japanese anime characters.

In a Comic-Con first, the film Cowboys & Aliens held its world premiere with stars Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, and Daniel Craig in attendance at the theater.

San Diego is an exciting city with beautiful beaches and ideal weather, which makes it a great city to host art events, such as Comic-con. Call the South Mission Beach condo rental agents of San Diego at 858-449-7552 when you book your vacation.

San Diego welcomes Comic-Con July 20-24

As recent big Blockbuster films have proved, comic books are no longer just for geeky teenagers. From children to teens to adults, comic books can be a fun source of entertainment for all, and Comic-Con, the Mecca for all comic book lovers, will be hosting its legendary convention this year in San Diego from July 20-24.

The convention will include celebrity signings, exciting sneak peaks of upcoming movies and projects, and special giveaways. Possibly the most exciting event will be San Diego’s fifth annual “Zombie Walk.” Held on July 23 from 5-6:30 p.m., Comic-Con attendees can have their faces painted by professional makeup artists to look like zombies. The “zombies” will then walk through San Diego’s Gaslamp District.

Some new projects that will be introduced are “Todd & the Book of Pure Evil” and “Psychoville.” Both are comedy-horror projects that will be shown on FEARnet.

Don’t hesitate to plan your Comic-Con adventure. Please contact the San Diego condo rental agents of South Mission Beach at 858-449-7552 to reserve your condo today.
