Orange County weekend events for your family

This weekend, there are many events occurring in the Orange County area for families to enjoy.

On Friday, the musical, “Annie” will be performed at the Musical Theater Village at 7:30 p.m. with ticket prices ranging from $13 to $15. Also on Friday at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Jason and the Argonauts will also be playing.

On Saturday, the Blue Ribbon Festival takes place in the Orange County Great Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature carnival rides, crafts, food trucks, booths, and a treasure hunt. Radio Disney and the Easter Bunny will also take place from 12 to 2 p.m. at The District.

San Diego Science Festival to take place this week

The San Diego Festival and Science Engineering is taking place this weekend in San Diego and events are scheduled to take place throughout the area.

Events will be taking place in Balboa Park as well as Cal State San Marcos and San Diego State University. The events are free and will run through March 24.

The event, organized by the University of California San Diego and is the largest of its kind in Southern California. The goal of this event is to inspire the youth in the San Diego area to get involved in careers within the fields of science, innovation, engineering and math.

Plunge pool is scheduled to reopen today in Mission Beach

The Plunge pool at Mission Beach is scheduled to reopen to the public today after being closed for the last 1o months. The historic pool was closed due to the former owner being unable to pay for repairs that would keep the pool safe.

An authorization of $185,000 for repairs was granted, and a contractor just agreed to the work. That was the last step needed in order to reopen the indoor pool at Belmont Park to the public. Although, the money for the repairs will fix the short-term problems, an additional $1 million is necessary in order to keep the pool up and running.

The pool will be open today between the hours of 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. for individuals who are members of the athletic club. For non-members, the pool will be available between noon and 8 p.m. and will cost $7 a person. This weekend only, the Plunge will have a special where admission per person will be 25 cents.
