Jaguar cubs at San Diego Zoo receive names

Two jaguar cubs that were born at the San Diego Zoo on April 26 have finally received official names.

The inspiration for the names came from a Nicaraguan volcano and a Mayan center focused on culture. The young male cub has been named Tikal, after the Mayan center, and the young female cub has been named Maderas, after the Nicaraguan volcano.

The public is not yet able to see the young cubs, but officials at the zoo stated that they will be on display in the coming months. They are expected to have their own exhibit with toys and a pool at the San Diego Zoo when they are old enough.

The San Diego Zoo is a great place to go on a family vacation. If you are planning a vacation to the San Diego area, make sure to rent your South Mission Beach condominium today. Please contact a South Mission Beach condo rental agent today by calling 858-413-6422.
