Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in San Diego

Only a few miles from the Mexican border, San Diego is one of the best spots in the country to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style. Among pub crawls, beach parties, and restaurant specials, one of the most popular Cinco de Mayo traditions in San Diego since 1983 is the annual Fiesta Old Town.

The Fiesta Old Town attracts sombrero-wearing party-goers from all over the country for three consecutive days of music, food, and fun. The Fiesta includes:

  • Three live music stages
  • A cantina beer garden
  • High end tequila tasting
  • Historical demonstrations
  • Equestrian performances
  • A low rider car show
  • A children’s area

The Fiesta Old Town is one of the largest celebrations of its kind north of the border, and offers an excellent excuse for taking a couple of vacation days in the San Diego area May 1-3.
