From wine to running, this weekend’s events in San Diego

For only $165-$175, marathoners and running enthusiasts have a chance to participate in the San Diego marathon Rock ‘N Roll Marathon and Half at 6:10 a.m. on May 31, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. The marathon is set to occur at Sixth Avenue and Quince Street, ending at Petco Park.

Meanwhile, Spanish food lovers and wine aficionados will partake in paella dishes and vintage wines from the Baja and Napa regions from noon to 6 p.m. on May 30 at this year’s International Paella and Wine Festival. The festival will be held at the Embarcadero Marina Park South.

Finally, Fiesta del Sol 2015 will feature acts like Big Mountain, Donavon Frankenreiter, and Super Diamond, among others on May 30-31 for 12 solid hours; each day will begin at 9 a.m. at Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach.

Weekend events in San Diego

Between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on May 16 in San Diego, art aficionados will be treated to art offerings in North Park’s Festival of the Arts, which takes place along University Avenue and surrounding streets, U-T San Diego reported on May 15. With its free admission, patrons can spend more money buying craft beer while looking at high art for only $40.

Pirate lovers, pirate enthusiasts, and even those who just enjoyed Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie franchise Pirates of the Caribbean will have the time of their lives on May 16 and 17 when they visit the Maritime Museum of San Diego at 1492 N. Harbor Drive in Embarcadero between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. After paying an admission fee of $13 to $16, attendees can participate in scavenger hunts, knot-tying, and sword-fighting demos.

Celebrate Independence Day in San Diego
