San Diego County Fair comes to town

San Diegans are thrilled to welcome the county fair to town as it sets up camp to stay through the fifth of July. Ticket prices for the “Fair to Remember: a Celebration of World’s Fairs and Balboa Park” range from $8.00 to $15.00 and offer access to such attractions as the Wild West Turkey Stampede, Bandaloni the amazing one-man-band, master hypnotist Mark Yuzuik, comedy and magic shows, musical guests, and so much more.

If you’re the competitive type, there are plenty of opportunities for you to go for the gold. A few of our most popular contests include the Battle of the Bands, Best Dance Crew, an Oratorical Contest, and In the Spotlight, a singing competition in which the finalists will compete on stage.

For those Senior citizens who love the fair time fun, every Thursday will be your shot at discounted tickets and access to a number of entertaining contests and events. Frugal folks who make Fridays their fair days will see major savings as they will receive a PennySaver Value Day coupon booklet with purchase of their tickets. To complete the weekend, Sundays are our Dia de la Familia, when we will present popular Latin musical artists in addition to our family-oriented events.

The San Diego fair takes place at the Del Mar fairgrounds, a mere 20 minute drive from many of our luxurious beach front properties. To speak with a South Mission Beach representative about booking a town house or condo on the beach, call 858-488-7100 today.

Fried food makes a splash at San Diego County Fair

The 2012 San Diego County Fair is almost here with a start date scheduled for June 8. This attraction draws large crowds to San Diego, with last year bringing in 1,412,113 people.

Fried food is a staple at the county fair, and the wide variety of foods dipped in batter can be overwhelming. Last year, attendees purchased more than 100,000 fried Kool Aid balls, 40,000 fried Oreos, and 20,000 fried avocados, and many other fried treats. This year there will be even more fried food choices.

Additions to the food vendor list this year will include fried cereal, fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and fried pork chops. Healthier options will also be featured at the fair this year, but vendors are expecting an influx of orders for the fried food due to its popularity last year.

The San Diego County Fair will run from June 8 until July 4. If you are planning on attending the festivities in San Diego, you should contact a San Diego rental agent today in order to book your South Mission Beach condo.
