Attractions

Mission Beach, San Diego has been one of the most popular vacation destinations in Southern California since it was first developed in the 1920s. Replete with glamorous boardwalks, exciting amusement parks, a uniquely laid-back nightlife, and miles of gorgeous beaches, Mission Beach has something for everyone.

Mission Beach offers a wide variety of attractions to visitors, ranging from the exciting to the relaxing and everything else in between. Whether you are looking for great restaurants and bars, pristine beaches, family entertainment, or vintage architecture, Mission Beach has what you want.

Location

Mission Beach is located just minutes from downtown San Diego and San Diego International Airport. Bounded by Mission Bay to the East and the boundless Pacific Ocean to the West, Mission Beach is a nearly two-mile stretch of white-sand beach.
The beach itself is known for its classic appeal, with its miles of paved boardwalk tailor-made for walking, running, jogging, biking, and rollerblading. Its promenades and architecture echo the refined old beach towns of the East Coast, with a distinctly West Coast flair.

Amusement Parks

Mission Beach has a number of great amusement parks, including the historic Belmont Park, which dates back to the 1920s. The park is home to the Giant Dipper, a wooden rollercoaster that has been operating, with only one interruption, since 1925.

Also nearby is SeaWorld San Diego, one of the country’s premier animal theme parks. SeaWorld has water rides, animal exhibitions, interactive exhibits, and shows, making it the perfect place for the family. Every night, SeaWorld features a breathtaking fireworks exhibition, which can be enjoyed from our townhome’s spacious patio.

Also nearby is the world-famous San Diego Zoo. Situated in beautiful Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo is one of the biggest zoos in the world. It is home to 4,000 animals of over 800 species, housed on 107 acres.

Mission Beach is located a mere 30 minutes from Legoland California. Located in Carlsbad, California, Legoland California is one of the country’s most popular amusement parks, home to 21 rides and themed on the popular children’s toys.

Nightlife

Mission Beach is also home to a number of exciting nightlife options. Our townhomes are just three blocks away from the legendary bars the Beachcomber and the Pennant. Other bars and clubs include the Typhoon Saloon, RT’s Longboard Grill, and Moondoggies. The area is also home to a number of great restaurants, like the funky Mission Café, the romantic but laid-back World Famous (located right on the beach), and the burger restaurant Sneak Joint.
